Advanced studies on Biomechanics and Ergonomics

DEMSSO003 - ECTS - To put ergonomics in the occupational context, present its scientific fundaments and the main branches of knowledge in which it is based on;
- To characterize the ergonomic approach of man-machine systems, by identifying their essential aspects (interface, work space, workload and corresponding physiological requirements, biomechanics, psycho-physics and psychological);
- To acquire knowledge of methodologies and instruments used to obtain and measure anthropometrical, physiological, biomechanical and psycho-physical parameters in the monitoring of experiments during the execution of occupational tasks;

The overall goal is to:
Develop a set of methodological skills that enable each student to circumscribe a topic, identify a problem and define research goals.

The specific objectives include:
• To acquire advanced knowledge on operationalization of the different research paradigms;
• To interiorise a critical and reflective attitude about the information available;
• To develop the ability to identify, assess and formulate problems of occupational safety and health;
• To develope the ability to work in a multidisciplinar and multicultural team.

Advanced studies on Risk Assessment and Control

DEMSSO006 - ECTS The main goal for each student of this course is to:
Develop a set of methodological skills that enable him to identify a topic within their field of study in the area of risk evaluation and control and simultaneously define the specific research goals.

The specific objectives of this CU include that the student be able to:
• Acquire advanced skills in risk evaluation and control in his specific research area;
• Concretise a critical and reflexive stance on the information available;
• Develop the ability to identify, evaluate and formulate problems in the area of risk evaluation and control.
