Program
Introduction: Analysis and dimensioning methods (project);
Limit analysis: Theorem of limit analysis, limit analysis methods, combination of independent mechanisms, equilibrium method and moment distribution (advantages and disadvantages), applications to reticulated structures.
Dimensioning (project) by minimum weight requirement: empirical method, non-linear and linear theories, geometrical analogy, minimum weight theorem (Foulke’s theorem), applications to reticulated structures;
Inelastic deformation analysis: estimation of step-by-step displacement and imminent collapse (by using inclination equations and static line displacement or virtual works theorem);
Dimensioning of reticulated structures using deformation control.
