Areas of Expertise: Data Analysis, Data Modelling, Computational Fluid Dynamics
Nelson Gonçalves holds a degree in Mathematics from University of Aveiro, a BSc in Mathematical Engineering from Faculty of Science of University of Porto, and a PhD in Science and Engineering of Polymers and Composites from University of Minho. After the PhD work developed research related with numerical simulations of complex flows, applied to polymer industry, power transformers cooling, chemical reactors and energy converters. He worked in INEGI from 2019 to 2024, initialy with technologies to the sea, coordinating a numerical group applied to control and optimization, and later integrated a Composites Materials and Structures team. Currently he's Invited Assistant Lecturer at FEUP, in Mathematics Section of Department of Mechanical Engineering.
