Objetivos
- To provide additional practical and applied knowledge in several fields not only in Finance, through the participation in seminars led by experts from corporate, academia and institutions.
- The seminar series will address different topics privileging the current challenges, the recent issues and the future perspectives in different fields.
- The students will develop the skills involved in characterizing complex problems in a multidisciplinary context, in evaluating the outcomes yielded and in communicating their analysis.

Learning outcomes:
- Use the knowledge acquired in the program to characterize complex problems, to evaluate the outputs yielded and to communicate the analysis and conclusions on the real-life cases presented in seminars.
- Analyse critically the current issues and challenges faced by the world with impacts on Finance.
- Envision the solutions for the future, presented by key players in the markets, in this era of constant change.
Learning Competencies:
- Preparation of a work group report addressing subjects and case studies approached in one or more seminars.
- Develop teamwork abilities.
- Presenting a report and training body language.
- Argumentation in public interacting with experts from corporate, academia and institutions.

Activities:
- The semester includes a set of mandatory seminars (selected by the professor responsible for the course) and a second set of additional sessions of free selection by students.
- In each session, there is a presentation of real cases and debate (Q&A).
- Seminars require student participation through questions put to speakers at the end of each session.
- The first session will be with the teacher responsible for the course, who will explain in detail how it works.
Learning and Assessment:
- Oral participation in seminars - Q&A (individual evaluation)
- Short report on a specific seminar selected by the professor responsible for the course (individual evaluation)
- Group report on a seminar selected by the students (group evaluation) + Presentation of the report in video format (group evaluation + individual evaluation).

Obtenção de frequência
- Minimum grade: 10 (obtained according to the calculation formula below).
- Attend all seminars classified as mandatory by the professor responsible for the course.
- Delivery of all assessment elements (Group Report + Q&A + Presentation + Peer assessment).
- Attend all seminars defined as mandatory (#6 mandatory for MiF Students).
- Share a certain minimum number of questions in specific seminars defined by the professor responsible for the course (this information is shared in detail on the Moodle page).
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
The formula for calculating the final classification is detailed on the course page in Moodle and follows the following weighting criteria
1) Group Report about one Seminar (from the list of mandatory seminars): 75%
- Written Report: 55% (group)
- Video with oral presentation of the report: 20% (group & individual)
2) Participation in the Seminars: 25%
- Seminars attendance: 10% (individual)
- Oral participation: 15% (individual)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Students should prepare for each Seminar in advance as sessions will have a discussion period.
- In the group report, students must show a critical sense, the ability to integrate practical knowledge and professional practices with the subjects and theories learned. Innovative approaches will be appreciated. This group report should explore information beyond what was shared at the seminar.
- Reports and video must be submitted in Moodle.
