Abstract (EN):
Eye blinking pattern can be modified as a result of fatigue or mental effort or in the presence of climatic extrinsic factors such as temperature and relative humidity. The aim of this study is to compare subject¿s eye blinking frequency when exposed to different climatic environments and its relationship with mental effort and fatigue. A subjective experiment was conducted in a climate chamber with two different conditions of temperature and relative humidity. In this study, mental workload consisted of a cognitive task performed during 50 minutes with the simultaneous capture of eye blinking. A thermal comfort questionnaire was filled up when the subject entered the climate chamber and after the task was finished. There is indication of a slight influence of high temperature and high relative humidity on eye blinking and consequently mental effort and fatigue. © 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
