Objectives
It is important for the formation of students the existence of multiple knowledge, a multidisciplinary perspective and within the wine areas in Portugal, is the objective of this course:
-Search and interpret the various sectoral information sources, to study the main indicators of wine spaces today, with particular emphasis on the tourist industry, its strategies and impacts
- Grasp the dynamic character of these spaces, without ignoring the diversity of components such as architectural and cultural heritage, central to its development.
-refletir on the diversity of stakeholders in tourism development agents
- Reflect on the importance of the wine routes, gastronomy, handicrafts and other potentiating tourism components
- Critical analysis team, examples of wine tourism, perspetivando develop skills leading to the definition of sustainable tourism and innovative intervention strategies.
Learning outcomes and competences
Research and interpret the various sources of sectorial information, in order to study the main indicators of wine-growing spaces today, with particular emphasis on the tourism aspect, its strategies and impacts
- To understand the dynamic character of these spaces, without ignoring the diversity of components such as the architectural and cultural heritage, central to their development.
- Reflect on the diversity of agents involved in tourism development
- Reflect on the importance of gastronomy, handicrafts and other components that enhance tourism
-Critical analysis of wine tourism examples, aiming to develop skills aimed at defining sustainable and innovative tourism intervention strategies.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The selected teaching methodologies are diversified, adapted to the theme to the students' training needs. The theoretical-practical component to which tutorial support and fieldwork are added predominates. In the theoretical component, the contents will be taught, predominantly the expository component, with intervention of the institutions responsible for the tourism sector, in a context where students' participation / responsibility through reflections on theoretical contents is central. In the more practical classes they dominate participative methodologies with the use of discussion and oriented reflection and to the information systems of technological base.
The students elaborate a work, exploring the tourism in the viticultural spaces, relying on empirical work / research under tutorial orientation.
The evaluation is distributed without final exam: written work (65%); oral presentation and discussion of the work (20%); field work (10%); class participation (5%).
