Description: | The study programme grants the Master of Art & Design for the Public Space and is aimed at students trained in varied Art, Design and/or Architecture courses, at this or other Faculties. The course offers alternatives for further education for within a scope of research that aims to intervene in the public space in a social, political, urban or virtual approach. http://madep.wordpress.com |
It is intended to encourage continued reflection and experimentation, varied in nature according to the particular objectives of each student, led to experimentation and implementation of interventions in the public space understood in its broadest operability, since for example punctual interventions of a temporary nature, the study of the impact of social and urban art in the public space, all the way through the understanding of of electronic informational space as an arena of intervention on a social space. The course involves the development of a project-oriented work, consistently matured in conjunction with other subject matters in the course, looking on the one hand, to encourage the student's autonomy, and on the other, inciting moments of collective and collaborative research. The results of the subject matter will therefore be varied in nature, consisting both in moments of small-scale experiments, as well as in real or virtual interventions, in any case leading preferably to conduct a public display at the end.
The course aims to weave crosses between the operability fields of art and design, communication and visual culture, anchored in the study of contemporary critical thought from the end of the century. XX and taking into account the mutual contamination between those fields. Supported the idea that there is no territory of visuality out of the cultural and political, the course is intended as an instigator of an interdisciplinary research in understanding the contemporary culture of multifaceted and dynamic way.
