Objetivos

Familiarizar os alunos com o maior número de especificidades espaciais bem como com os diversos conceitos concorrentes para a sua caracterização: do "espaço natural" ao "espaço humanizado", do espaço urbano ao espaço arquitectónico. Clarificação dos domínios do vocabulário corrente (de rua a estrada, de tecto a telhado, de telhado a cobertura, de pátio a quintal ou a terraço). Apelo à memória espacial "escondida" de cada um (experimentação directa e indirecta), incentivo às "descobertas pessoais" sobretudo no que respeita à descoberta da arquitectura e da cidade.

The main objective of this discipline (TGOE - TEORIA GERAL DA ORGANIZAÇÃO DO ESPAÇO/ GENERAL THEORY OF THE ORGANIZATION OF THE SPACE) is to get the students familiar with the greatest number of specific kind of spaces, as well as with the various concepts competing for its characterization: from "natural landscapes" to "humanized space", from medieval city space to contemporary one, from urban space to architectural space, from the public to the domestic ambiences. Clarification of current areas of vocabulary (from street to road, from ceiling to roof, from roof to cover, from patio to backyard or terrace). "Hidden" personal memories of space should be called (direct and indirect experiences), as well as the encouragement of "personal discovery", particularly in what concerns the discovery of the Architecture and the City.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

SESSÕES DE ENSINO DE NATUREZA COLECTIVA (uma aula por semana)

Aulas de exposição teórica ilustradas por materiais visuais comentados (sistema power-point) através de dez temas principais (cinco em cada semestre) .

SESSÕES DE ORIENTAÇÃO PESSOAL DE TIPO TUTORIAL (uma aula por semana)

Aulas "práticas" de consolidação dos conceitos divulgados nas sessões de ensino de natureza colectiva: conversas circulares de "levantamento" das memórias pessoais; visionamento de filmes com apelo à reflexão espacial; exercícios simples (alguns de carácter lúdico), individuais ou de grupo, motivadores da discussão, do diálogo, da correcção científica vocabular e/ou de conceitos, da interrogação e da pesquisa.

COLLECTIVE SESSIONS (one lesson per week)

Classes of theoretical exposure (in Portuguese language) illustrated and commented with visual materials (power-point system) through ten main topics (five in each Semester).

ORIENTED TUTORIAL SESSIONS (one lesson per week)

"Practical" classes with the objective of consolidate the concepts disclosed in the collective teaching sessions (in Portuguese language, but with incursions in French or English, if necessary): circular conversations of "inventory" of each one personal memories, viewing of films appealing to the comprehension of the space; simple exercises (some of them with a playful character), of collective or individual resolution, motivating the discussion, the dialogue, the scientific correction of the vocabulary and / or the concepts, motivating also the continuous interrogation of the different TGOE themes and the research of the answers.

Serão propostos dois testes de avaliação de conhecimentos, um no final de cada semestre.

Os trabalhos realizados nas aulas práticas ou fora dos tempos escolares (individuais e de grupo) serão objecto de avaliação contínua (nas suas diversas componentes de expressão, originalidade, rigor e adequação), assim como a assiduidade e a participação do(s) aluno(s).

Two tests (written in Portuguese language), will be offered for the assessment of knowledge, one in the end of each Semester (answers in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French and English languages, would be considered).

The work done in practical classes or outside of the School (individual or collective) will be continuous assessment (in its various components of expression, originality, accuracy and adequacy), as well as the attendance and participation of the student(s).

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

Tratando-se TGOE de uma disciplina de carácter anual, a classificação final será a média obtida a partir da soma dos resultados dos dois testes de avaliação de conhecimentos, com a nota proposta pelo docente das "práticas" (nota essa que, por sua vez, resultará da média das notas atribuídas aos vários trabalhos, individuais e de grupo, desenvolvidos ao longo do ano, ponderada ainda a penalização prevista no caso de falta de assiduidade do discente), dividida por 3 (três).

A assiduidade, quer às aulas teóricas quer às aulas práticas, entrará na ponderação da nota final, com o seguinte critério:

<25% (de faltas) : o aluno não será penalizado.
>25% (de faltas) e <50% : menos um (1) valor na classificação final.
>50% (de faltas) : o aluno não poderá ser considerado apto.*

*Serão dispensados do critério da assiduidade os alunos repetentes que, por impossibilidade comprovada de horário, não possam assistir a nenhum dos módulos (teórico ou prático) da disciplina.


Uma falta a um dos testes de avaliação de conhecimentos, desde que devidamente justificada, não penalizará o aluno; a falta não justificada a um dos testes de avaliação de conhecimentos introduzirá um 0 (zero) no somatório destinado à obtenção da média final; da falta aos dois testes de avaliação de conhecimentos resultará que o aluno não possa vir a ser considerado apto.

The discipline of TGOE has an annual basis; so, the classification will be the average obtained from the sum of the results of the two tests with the mark proposed by the practice’ teachers (mark that, in its turn, should result from the average of the scores assigned to individual and collective work, developed during the year, still considered the penalty provided in case of lack of attendance from the student), divided by 3 (three).
The attendance, both in theoretical and practical classes, weights in the final grade, with the following criteria:

<25% (of absence): the student will not be penalized.
> 25% (of absence) and <50%: minus one (-1) point in the final classification.
> 50% (of absence): the student should not be able to finalize TGOE.*

* Will be exempted from these criteria of attendance the repeating students for whom, in terms of schedule, should be impossible to attend any of the modules (theoretical or practical) of the discipline.

A lack of attendance of a test for the assessment of knowledge, if properly justified, do not penalize the student; an unjustified absence, however, introduce a 0 (zero) in the sum for obtaining the final average. From the lack of attendance of the two tests of the year should result that the student * can not be considered approved.

Provas e trabalhos especiais

Na hipótese (remota) das faltas aos dois testes de avaliação de conhecimentos poderem vir a ser devidamente justificadas (doença, por exemplo), o aluno será convidado a responder a um teste global, em data a acordar que permita ainda a consideração da respectiva nota para a elaboração da classificação final.

Do mesmo modo, a não entrega de um dos trabalhos de carácter individual desenvolvidos nas aulas “práticas” ou a não participação na elaboração de um dos trabalhos de carácter colectivo, desde que devidamente justificada, não penalizará o aluno; a falta não justificada na entrega (ou participação em) de qualquer um dos referidos trabalhos, introduzirá um (ou tantos quanto os respectivos trabalhos em falta) 0 (zero) no somatório destinado à obtenção da média final; da não entrega/participação dos/nos vários trabalhos individuais e de grupo, resultará que o aluno não possa ser considerado apto.

In the (remote) case that the two test failures could be adequately justified (illness, for example), the student will be asked to respond to a global test, in order to further discussion with the practice’ teachers the final classification.

Similarly, the non-delivery of one of the works developed in the "practical" classes, if properly justified, should not penalize the student; the unjustified failure in delivery (or participation in) any of the works, would contribute with one (or as many as the works in absence) 0 (zero) for the sum of the final average; systematic non-delivery (or non-participation at all) in the various individual and collective works of the year, will impossible the student of being approved.

Melhoria de classificação

Existirá ainda a possibilidade legal de exame de recurso, na época de Julho, para os alunos cuja classificação final seja de 8 (oito) ou 9 (nove) ou para aqueles que pretendam fazer melhoria de nota. A classificação final, no entanto, será a média resultante da soma do novo resultado com o aquele do teste de classificação mais alta obtida nesse ano e com a nota previamente proposta pelo docente das “práticas”, dividido por 3 (três).

It is still possible an appeal exam, in July, for students whose final grade is 8 (eight) or 9 (nine) or for those wishing to make improvements in their final marks. The final classification, however, should be the average resulting from the sum of the new result with that one of the test witch achieved the highest rating during the year and the mark previously proposed by the practice’ teachers, divided by 3 (three).
