Abstract (EN):
A model for the steady state, geometrically non-linear, periodic vibration of thin rectangular plates under harmonic external excitation is presented. The equations of motion in the time domain are derived by applying the principle of virtual work and the hierarchical finite element method (HFEM). These equations are transformed into the frequency domain by the harmonic balance method (HBM) and are solved by a continuation method. The convergence properties of the model are discussed by applying it to isotropic and to composite laminated plates. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
