Abstract (EN): This study aimed to evaluate the occupational environment at the Offices of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), concerning thermal environment. The thermal environment was studied in two phases. In phase A the evaluation was developed under conditions defined by the user. To study the thermal environment, were selected 17 offices, considered to be representative of all the kinds of existing offices. In general it was observed that the thermal environment in the offices was within legal limits. The exceptions reflect occupants specific preferences. In the phase B, the research was developed, in the same offices, in order to analyse what kind of adjustment could be done to control the environment with the available resources. The main conclusion it was, according Fangers model, that it is possible to adjust the thermal environment in accordance with the intended by the occupiers, within very broad limits.
