Among the challenges faced by higher education institutions today, knowing the professional and employment paths of graduates occupies a place of great importance, especially due to its strong academic, social, economic and cultural implications.
Furthermore, the importance of the availability of employability indicators and indicators related to the degree of satisfaction with academic training is especially relevant as an instrument for the definition of policies to improve quality and for the affirmation and international competitiveness of programmes and qualifications delivered by the University of Porto.
In this sense, the Observatory, based on surveys to its graduates, aims to contribute to a better knowledge of the processes of transition to work, of the weight and influence of training not only in the lives of its graduates, but also in society, in the economy and in the culture of the country, and should serve as an instrument for the definition of strategic lines of development and quality of the training provided in the various programmes. The surveys are applied annually.
In the right side, under the option Documents one can consult the report of the 2016/17 graduate survey carried out in 2019/20, as well as reports of a similar nature carried out previously.
Currently, this Observatory has an Advisory Committee composed of representatives from each School of the U.Porto.
