Mission: | The Laboratory of Cytogenetics has three key goals: teaching, research and service to community. The main academic mission is to teach Medical Genetics (MIM), Animal Cytogenetics (MIMV) and a module of Cytogenetics in the curricular unity of Genetics (CMA). The area of research focuses on human and animal cytogenetics and additionally providing diagnostic of diseases associated with chromosome instability. |
Description: | The Laboratory of Cytogenetics assures teaching and research in the area of Human and Animal Cytogenetics, and provides also service to community. The main area of research is about cytogenetic studies in diseases associated with chromosome instability, in particular Fanconi Anemia. Another area of interest focus on cellular anti-oxidant functions, in particular from the erythrocyte. |
