Mission:	To teach, investigate, and offer services in fundamental and applied biomedical sciences.
Description:	The LabH&E is a teaching and research unit of the Department of Microscopy, established at ICBAS in 1975. Its leadership has included Daniel Furtado da Silva (1975-1983), Rogério Monteiro (1984-2011), and Eduardo Rocha (since 2011). The lab's core mission is to provide high-quality teaching in Human and Animal Histology and Embryology, along with other specialized areas and techniques where its faculty excel, such as Scientific Communication, Cytology and Haematology (in Veterinary), Endocrinology, Histotechnology, and Toxicology. In parallel, the LabH&E actively conducts research and offers various services.
