The Academic Affairs Office operates within the scope of administration, management, and support of both degree-awarding and non-degree-awarding programmes offered by ICBAS. It is structured into the Undergraduate Unit and the Postgraduate and Continuing Education Unit.

Within the scope of the responsibilities assigned to the Academic Affairs, the Undergraduate Unit carries out, among others, the following duties:

• Providing front-office assistance;
• Offering information on admission and attendance requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree in Aquatic Sciences and the Integrated Master’s Degrees in Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at ICBAS;
• Ensuring the provision of information and documentation related to academic procedures such as applications, enrolments, registrations, re-entries, changes of institution/course pair, and tuition fees;
• Receiving and managing processes related to the recognition of prior learning and professional experience;
• Recording all actions concerning students’ academic records, and organising and maintaining up-to-date archives of individual student files;
• Issuing certificates of enrolment, registration, attendance, completion, and other documents listed in the University of Porto Fee Table;
• Providing statistical data to the Directorate-General for Education and Science Statistics, the Portuguese Medical Association, and other relevant bodies;
• Managing processes related to the recognition of foreign degrees.
