Objectives

To address the main aspects of primary, secondary, tertiary and chemo-prevention of cancer.
To evaluate the differences between the community and individual approaches to cancer prevention
To analyze the main methods of evaluation of screening, errors and determinants of the application of the screenings in the population.
To evaluate the Health Intervention Programs in the North Region as the screening of breast and cervical cancer and colorectal cancer.

Learning outcomes and competences

Knowledge – at the end of the course students will be able to distinguish between primary, secondary and third prevention of cancer; they will also be able to distinguish between population and high-risk prevention strategies.

Skills - at the end of the course students will be able to use the appropriate methodologies to assess screening programs.

Attitudes - at the end of the course students will be critical about decisions concerning screening implementation.
