Objectives

To initiate the study of the animal morphology and the student’s contact with animals of several species. To know the morphological characteristics and aptitudes of the principal Portuguese and exotic breeds of animals belonging to bovine, zebu, equine, asinine, mules, sheep, goat, pig, rabbits, poultry, canine and feline species. To know some animal management practices.

Learning outcomes and competences

The lectures are supported by the use of overheads, slides, videos, and multimedia. The material used in lectures is provided in full to students The practical teaching consists in study visits and practical classes at the Campus Agrário de Vairão.
