| Acronym: | DRUI |
| Description: | The Department of Kidney, Urologic and Infectious Diseases of the Faculty of Medicine of Porto (DRUI) includes teachers and researchers who share complementary areas of medical knowledge, namely nephrologists, urologists and infectiologists, who have been working together with great success not only in pre-graduate but also in medical assistance and scientific research. It is therefore for its members a key tool available, enabling them to enhance the quality and scale of academic activities to develop – teaching, both pre- and post-graduated, biomedical research and hospital care. The DKUI includes two research centers: The Research and Development Unit of Nephrology (FCT-725) and the Center for Translational Neuro-Urology of the IBMC (IBMC-CNT) that integrate all the teachers and researchers of the Department. The activity of these two research centers has been expanding and growing in recent years, not only in terms of publications, but also through various collaborations with prestigious international institutions. |
