Objectives
To develop knowledge, skills and competences in clinical forensic medicine, allowing students to actively participate in in forensic medical procedures, namely for post traumatic personal harm assessment, domestic violence and maltreatment cases evaluation, and sexual crimes examination, as well as in the elaboration of the forensic medical report and in the discussion of the results in the forensic expertise setting.
Learning outcomes and competences
Being the concern to provide students with knowledge, skills and competencies that enable them to actively participate in a clinical forensic exam in any scope of Law it may take place, teaching methodology is adequate through practical classes, in order to allow the training of gestures which are expectable in a real situation and that are important to attain in this context.

- General methodologies for the assessment of personal harm. Causality nexus, previous state, healing and medico-legal consolidation.
- Forensic medical assessment in the Criminal Law setting: offenses to the physical integrity, domestic violence and maltreatment, sexual offenses.
- Forensic medical assessment in the Civil Law setting: temporary and permanent harms. Tables of impairment and disability.
- Forensic medical assessment in the Labor Law setting: temporary and permanent harms. Tables of impairment and disability.
- 5. The forensic medical report. General structure. Specificities according to the law setting.

Eligibility for exams
42 hours of clinical practice (participation in forensic medical exams of victims of trauma of diverse etiologies, with a ratio teacher:student of 1:2.
Students will be evaluated though a written assignment (original research or monograph), its oral presentation and discussion, being its score equivalent to the final grade of the curricular unit.
