Objectives
Acquisition of knowledge on concepts and methods of occupational health. Recognition of the most frequent occupational risk factors. Understand the different risk assessment tools. Recognize the main types of occupational illnesses.
Learning outcomes and competences
Students should be able to undertake the assessment of occupational risks and to plan their preventive measures; To collaborate on designing sites, methods and organization of work as well as to cooperate in the choice and maintenance of work equipment; To understand the methods of workers’ health surveillance according to the risks they are exposed to; To identify major occupational diseases; To develop health promotion activities in the workplace; To acquire skills to gather statistical information on hygiene, health and safety at work; To acquire knowledge on measures to be taken in the event of serious and imminent danger.
