Objectives

To know the burden and secular trends of the most frequent chronic diseases and of their main determinants in human populations.

Lectures by specialists in topics related to the epidemiology of different groups of highly-frequent chronic diseases (cancer, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, rheumatic diseases and diabetes) will allow students to know the specificities of each nosological group and the corresponding implications in the study of the burden of disease in the population. A lecture by primary care professionals will show the provider’s perspective of the management of chronic disease.
