Diana Silva is a consultant physician in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Unidade Local de Saúde de São João, Porto, and an invited assistant professor of Basic and Clinical Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical and Health Services Research in 2019, focusing on how exercise, physical activity, and diet modulate immune and stress responses.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Porto. She specialized in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Centro Hospitalar de São João, where she has been a staff member since 2015. Since 2017, she has actively contributed to teaching Basic and Clinical Immunology at the university and is also responsible for the post-graduate unit of Immunotherapy and Immunomodulation.
Since 2023, she has served as the Portuguese Journal of Immunoallergology Editor-in-Chief. Since 2024, she has been chair of the Ocular Allergy Working Group of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Her contributions to research include 60 indexed publications in Web of Science, with 12 as the first or last author, alongside book chapters and numerous invited presentations at scientific meetings.
She acted as principal investigator in clinical trials, including the MERIIT and CRD-AIT projects, which reflected her commitment to advancing allergy and immunology research. Her areas of interest span ocular allergy, allergen immunotherapy, and the interplay between lifestyle factors and immune responses.
