The Course on Analgesia, Sedation, Delirium, Immobility and Sleep in the Critically Ill Patient (CASDIS) aims to standardise the approach to analgesia, sedation, delirium, immobility and sleep in the critically ill patient, as well as promoting the development and implementation of protocols. This course will enable health professionals to be retrained and promote training in an interprofessional and interdisciplinary context.
This training aims to: Present concepts related to analgesia and pain in the critically ill patient, as well as the use of standardised and validated scales; Practise the use of assessment scales, namely: END, BPS, ANI and BIS; Present concepts related to sedation, agitation and mobility, in the critically ill patient, as well as the use of standardised and validated scales; Present concepts related to delirium and sleep, in the critically ill patient, as well as the use of standardised and validated scales; Practise the use of assessment scales, namely: CAM-ICU, ICDS and MRC; Present non-pharmacological strategies; Present the indications, contraindications, risks and benefits of epidural analgesia; Present the concepts of eCASH and ABCDEF bundle. Present strategies to avoid oversedation and indications for deep sedation; Present and practise drawing up a protocol for analgesia, sedation, delirium, immobility and sleep in the critically ill patient.
