Knowledge about obesity, its causes and consequences has evolved considerably in recent years. Nevertheless, treatment of the disease remains focused on its consequences rather than its causes. Effective treatment of obesity requires a cross-cutting, holistic and multidisciplinary response that can address different causes and prevent the development of associated complications. This training course on obesity aims to empower health professionals to be the first line of response in the diagnosis, monitoring, awareness-raising and treatment of people with obesity, but also in prevention. Specialised training for professionals is also a priority in order to better treat patients. In short, this training course on obesity was designed to respond to the need for a paradigm shift in the approach to obesity and will meet a need among healthcare professionals.
