Fetal Medicine

Prenatal diagnosis and fetal medicine are rapidly developing areas that require extensive knowledge.

In addition to knowledge of embryology and physiology, those working in fetal medicine need to understand the main pathologies, how they manifest and the most appropriate diagnostic methods. In addition to identifying existing abnormalities, it is necessary to integrate them so that it is possible to make the etiological diagnosis and define the prognosis and, thus, correctly define the action plan.

Regime of operation: Face-to-face

Language of instruction: Portuguese

Recipients:
Holders of a bachelor's or integrated master's degree in medicine.
Holders of a bachelor's degree in the area of health sciences with an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this course by the scientific committee.


Tuition fee:

Students, teachers, researchers and clinical staff of FMUP and affiliated institutions: ¤550.00.

All others: 750,00¤.

Objectives

  1. Knowledge of embryology and fetal physiology.
  2. Knowledge of the fetal pathologies (pathology, incidence, genetics, risk factors and associated anomalies) to improve the capacity of its diagnosis.
  3. Clinical and non-clinical skills that allow prenatal diagnosis and intervention.
