The Clinical Specialisation in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy represents the possibility of filling a gap in the training of doctors (and other technicians in the field of Mental Health), providing them with a theoretical and clinical tool that makes them more complete professionals and capable not only of treating symptoms, but of promoting a more cohesive Mental Health.
To deepen and update the training of therapists in the area of Mental Health, providing them with a theoretical and clinical tool that makes them more attentive professionals to intra and intersubjective experiences and more complete and capable, not only of symptomatic treatment, but also of promoting a more structured and harmonious psychological functioning in patients and in themselves. To this end, this Clinical Specialisation in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy encompasses theoretical and theoretical-practical training with three main aims: (1) to raise awareness of the importance of the psychotherapeutic role and relationship and the indication of psychotherapeutic work; (2) to provide theoretical and clinical knowledge of psychodynamic theory; (3) to develop psychodynamic psychotherapeutic formulation skills for clinical cases.
The Diploma does not confer the degree of Psychotherapist.

Teaching language: Portuguese
Recipients: Applicants must have: A Master's degree in Medicine or Psychology from a Portuguese university. Graduates from before the Bologna Process may also apply.
