Update knowledge in Travel Medicine and Mobile Populations, contribute to fostering interest and promoting discussion in this area of medical knowledge to improve the training of health professionals, particularly those involved in Travel Medicine.
At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to: have general knowledge in the area of Travel Medicine and Global Health that allows them to understand how to assess risk and communicate it in pre-travel consultations, the importance of advising international travellers, the aspects that should be focused on, and the main manifestations of travel-related illness in returning travellers.
In population health and global health, concepts and emphasis are based on the establishment of ‘One Health’.
The aim is for students to acquire the necessary skills to further explore and investigate all areas covered in the course.
Travel Medicine has become increasingly complex due to dynamic changes in global infectious disease epidemiology, the changing patterns of drug resistance, and a rise in the number of travelers with chronic health conditions. This course acts as an introduction to Travel Medicine, in order to identify the scope of competencies expected of travel medicine practitioners, and an up-to-date actualization of this matter is the aim of the Course.
