Objectives
Emerging methods of education and simulation and its impacts will be learned by praticing the use of these methods in the classroom environment and preparing appropriate teaching materials. Publications will also be used to assess the impact of these new methods.
Learning outcomes and competences
- To know the emerging ways of education and its impact (eg: distance learning, massive open online courses, synchronous and asynchronous).
- Being able to use and teach how to use new tools for teaching and medical simulation.
- Planning the use of these tools in the subjects taught by the students in their institutions, setting the objectives for each subject.
- Being able to communicate and teach how to communicate science.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The teaching will be done through expositive classes referring to lectures, and practical classes where students use the new methods of education described in the syllabus.
Handouts will be available (articles and book chapters) for the study of new methods.
Students should plan a course unit using the techniques and technologies learned in class. A lecture of this course will be presented by students and used for evaluation (70%). The evaluation will be complemented with an examination (30%).
