Summary: |
The present research will involve the elaboration of a systematic inventory of house interventions effectuated by the State in the city of Porto during the last 50 years (1956-2006). With this procedure we will seek to rebuild, with the retrospective eye that characterizes sociology, the frame of problems that have been underlying the logic of State's action.
Such an inventory will be completed, after the election of the most relevant examples and cases, with a specific critical archive where we will try to reconstitute the logic of each intervention in spatial, social and political terms. These properties will be conjugated and compared with others resulting from the assessment of reference European urban situations.
From the point of view of the agents that were the target of these interventions, we will document the memory of the structured processes and we will analyze, following the results of a survey by questionnaire, agents' and families' social trajectories. The relation between work, family and lived house will be the main reference of the social trajectories analysis. |
