Objectives, activities and expected/achieved results

FMUP will be leading the WP2 dedicated to scientific knowledge on access to health care for deaf people, specifically revealing the challenges in communication with mental health providers and gaps in European health knowledge for deaf people including those with even higher risk of marginalization. Furthermore, it will support the development of training contents for HEIs' educators in mental health and support the facilitation of a transnational mobility in Porto to train sign language educators in healthcare communication for deaf people assistance.
This is transferred into:
- A validated research plan & instrumentation by the ethical committee;
- A comparative study in EN, assessed with high quality;
- An educators' toolkit consisting of a guide and materials (slides, workshop plans, activity files, translated to 5 national languages (EN, PT, ES, IT, RO);
- A LTTA (mobility training) of 25 hours for 20 HEIs educators from 4 European countries;
- Academic publications.
