Paulo Vieira-Pinto is an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and at the Instituto Universitário de Ciências da Saúde (IUCS-CESPU), where he teaches in the field of Forensic Sciences, focusing on topics such as Intimate Partner Violence, Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Biomechanics and Road Traffic Injury Analysis.

He is also an Assistant Professor at Universidade Fernando Pessoa, where he teaches courses in Criminology, Criminal Psychology and Criminal Investigation. His academic work bridges teaching, applied research, and professional forensic practice.

He holds a PhD in Forensic Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela, a Master’s in Forensic Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, and a degree in Social Sciences - Social Psychology.

He is Chief Operating Officer at FOREN – Forensic Sciences, a company specialising in technical-scientific expert analysis in judicial and insurance contexts. As a forensic expert, he participates in judicial and administrative proceedings, with expertise in traffic accident reconstruction, vehicle fire investigation, technical failure analysis and forensic biomechanics.

He is also the founder of the Institute for Advance Learning (I4AL), dedicated to specialised training in justice, security, and applied social sciences. He regularly collaborates with universities, courts, insurance companies and law enforcement, both in Portugal and internationally, as a speaker, trainer and expert consultant.
