José Silva-Cardoso, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC, (http://orcid.org/0000-0002-9774-9864) is a Cardiologist and Chefe de Serviço at the Cardiology Department of São João University Hospital Center (CHUSJ), where he coordinates the Heart Failure and Transplant Clinic.

He is a Full Professor of Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, and the Principal Investigator and Coordinator of the CardioCare Group at the Center for Health Technology and Services Research (CINTESIS-FMUP).

José Silva Cardoso was the Coordinator of the Working Group on Heart Failure of the Portuguese Society of Cardiology (2019-2023). He is also Past-President of the Portuguese Society of Cardiology, a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology  and of the American College of Cardiology

He is an Associate-Editor of the Portuguese Journal of Cardiology and a member of the Editorial Committee of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology - Portuguese Edition.

José Silva Cardoso published 168 articles and abstracts indexed to WoS (h-index: 21).

He was the coordinator of 16 international and 6 national research projects, amounting to a total budget of 1.211.000 ¤.

He integrated the Scientific and Organizing Committees of 22 Scientific Conferences or Congresses in the Fields of Cardiology and of Heart Failure.

He was awarded with 7 scientific prizes and/or honors.
