Abstract (EN):
This study aims at to analyse the perception of the workers of the traditional bakery on its exposure to the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders and to verify the relationship between this perception and the reported symptomatology. An inquiry was carried out, based on the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. 25 interviews, involving 96% of the workers of the 6 bakeries participating in the study, were performed. The workers were characterized concerning their profession and tasks executed. Further, the musculoskeletal symptomatology was assessed, thus contributing to explain some of the identified pathologies. The prevalence of symptoms, remaining for at least in 4 consecutive days, recorded in the last 12 months, was higher in knees (64%), and in the dorsal (52%), and lumbar (48%) body regions. Results seem to indicate that workers with higher prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms show a greater perception on the exposure to the risk ofWork related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WRMSD).
