Objetivos
By the end of C1.2 (Semester 6 of English Language) students should be able to do the following:
1. Communicate effectively, in terms of appropriacy, sensitivity and the capacity to deal with unfamiliar topics.
2. Contribute effectively to classes and tutorials with a good degree of accuracy, fluency and range of expression, coping with abstract topics.
3. Read quickly enough to cope with an academic course, read the media for information and understand non-standard correspondence.
4. Prepare documents for job applications.
5. Dissect essay questions for meaning.

According to FLUP guidelines: 75% attendance.
Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final
30 in class composition; 40 Use of English Test; 10 Listening; 20 Tutorial Discussion; 20 Final Oral. Total: 120 marks. Pass mark: 10/20.

Tutorial Discussion Groups.
Avaliação especial (TE, DA, ...)
Worker Student Test in June.
The final oral will be based on a novel, designated by the class teacher after consultation with the students. This novel MUST be read in its ENGLISH language version. Students who have not read an English language novel CANNOT do this oral.

Class work and evaluation will be conducted exclusively in English.
Worker students should maintain contact with their class teacher and colleagues in order to remain informed as to progress and dates for tests etc.
