Objectives

This subject focuses on Sculpture, Painting and other Visual Arts in Portugal, from the Neoclassical period to the emergence of the first generation of Naturalists. Together with more traditional themes in the Historiography of Art, such as the evolution of style, patronage and reception of artistic works, other issues will also be analysed (social structure of the arts, their teaching and critique).
