Objectives

Students will acquire, practise and develop the methodological skills needed to produce research work in modern history. The end result of this research will take the form of a scientific report.

The results of this activity, in this 2nd module of the UC, should take the form of a research work project, in continuity with the previous semester. that allows the development and conclusion of the final reserach work

1. Methods of validation and evaluation of data in document sources
2. Analysis and systematisation of information - data processing methods: qualitative and quantitative analysis
3. Structuring the scientific work
4. Writting a scientific paper.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Presentation and discussion of concepts, research methods and analysis, and debates on the problems arising from ongoing students’ research. Practical classes will be devoted to field work, research in public and private archives, libraries, museums, documentation centres. They will also be used to tutor students in their ongoing research projects.
