Objectives

The proposal of this teaching program has the following general objectives: To offer a perspective on German Literature and Culture in light of the relationships established between different European spaces; To create a space for reflection on themes and subjects of German Literature and Lyric in its European context; To investigate the transnational potential of German Literature through its genesis, the Middle Ages.

Learning outcomes and competences

By the end of the semester, students should be able to: Identify, classify, and delineate the spatial, temporal, and historical landscapes of the medieval period; Understand influences, intertexts, and European dialogues in medieval German literature/lyric; Comprehend how the themes and subjects of medieval German literature/lyric relate to European poetics; Establish connections between medieval Europe and contemporary Europe; Apply the conceptual tools studied throughout the semester to other texts of Medieval German Literature.

Classification improvement

Only the "test" component can be improved during the resit phase.

Observations

The test will take place in the last class of the semester. The grade for the "participation" component is the average of the 7 best weekly presentations made throughout the semester.
