Objectives
- To identify and understand the research steps to be taken in order to begin dealing with a research topic.

Learning outcomes and competences
With this UC is intended that the students develop research skills in history of art, artistic heritage and visual culture dominating the respective methodologies and the vocabulary of scientific research by direct contact with research models.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The exposure of programmatic contents in class is supported by the presentation of audiovisual material, the analysis of primary and secondary sources and the presentation of case studies in the classroom context (S) and in field work (TC). OT sessions are for the monitoring of practical work and the deepening of the syllabus’ contents.

Eligibility for exams
Students are required to attend at least 75% of classes, except in cases foreseen in the Assessment Regulations.
Calculation formula of final grade
Distributed evaluation with final exam. The evaluation is based on the realization of: Class participation (30%), written work (50%) and oral presentation (20%).
Examinations or Special Assignments
Class participation (30%): attendance, fulfilment of tasks, active participation in the course and critical thinking
Written work (50%): ability to respond to the objectives, quality of content and writing, scientific rigour
Oral presentation (20%): structure of the presentation, ability to systematise content and transmission of the oral message.
The oral presentation will be scheduled by the responsible services.
