Objectives
1) The students will acquire the knowledge that will allow them to read and understand written historical resources about Portugal’s History.
2) They will be able to analyze the internal and external characters of a document
3)They will also be able to scrutinize documents, searching for information in different historical resources
4) The students will be able to answers questions relating to several documents (i. e. “Who wrote it”, “when was it written?”, “where was it written?”, “Why was it written?", etc.)
5) They will be able to classify different documents (Its nature, where were they written, etc.)
Learning outcomes and competences
The program, by providing students information on the types of writing, the different types of documents, their composition, etc.., provides the elements considered essential for reading and interpreting a variety of written historical sources related to the history of Portugal.

B) Diplomatics
1. The concept and history of diplomatics
2. Writing agents: centers of production and writing professionals
3. Documents: typology, tradition and conservation.
4.The structure of the writing acts. Formulas and forms.

Classification improvement
1) It is not possible to improve the classification of each test
2) Students will be able to improve their final classification (>10/20), by taking, in the "Época de Recurso", a single exam that covers the subject taught in ALL the Semester.
