Objectives

In this course, the students of German should achieve a level of knowledge corresponding to level B2.1 (independent user, level 1) of the Common European Framework of Reference in the competences listening, reading, speaking and writing. In addition to consolidating the lexical knowledge previously studied, students should be able to: - read and understand oral and written texts, interviews and complex sequences of argumentation, within the thematic areas studied and current themes, including texts with abstract or technical topics; - develop lexical skills to understand and summarize written texts (adapted and / or authentic, such as online articles, comments and reports) on the topics covered; - develop oral presentation techniques on subjects studied; - present and defend, orally, different points of view on current and controversial topics and express themselves in German with fluency, clarity and spontaneity in the interaction with the teacher and with the classmates. - draw up and explain, in a clear and detailed manner, a point of view; - develop and apply summary techniques based on authentic texts.

At the end of the semester, students will have developed core competences for the systematic (responsive and productive) use of the German language, applying the lexicon and language structures (Redemittel) specific to the contents addressed. They should also master the appropriate terminology and grammatical structures at B2.1 level and acquire a broader knowledge of sociocultural realities than German speaking countries.

Learning outcomes and competences

Based on the objectives of the B2.1 German curricular unit, the teaching methods adopted in the classes aim to consolidate and develop the application of German-language knowledge, in terms of reception and production, in various situations, with an emphasis on understanding and p">roducing complex texts on the topics of the program and oral expression, which will be developed through presentations and debates in class.
">The teaching methodology will follow a communicative approach, which will allow students to develop oral skills, stimulating them to use the language independently, always in a constructive and creative process.
">In order to consolidate the acquired knowledge, the adopted methodology aims at the constant contact of the student with different teaching materials, authentic texts and vocabulary exercises applied to the use of the language in authentic situations.
The evaluation is based on these parameters through practical exercises, written tests, oral tests, listening comprehension tests and active participation in class. The tests proposed in the scope of the distributed evaluation will aim to allow the teacher and the student to check progress in reviewing and deepening existing knowledge and acquiring new content.
