Objectives
The curricular unit intends to provide incentive to the student to critically watch films and read works of literature, increasing their analytical capacity, providing them with those instruments necessary in order to be able to undertake a profound analysis. Simultaneously, the relations will be studied between literature and cinema through the analysis of the adaptation of Thomas Mann's 'Novelle' 'Der Tod in Venedig (1911) by Luchino Visconto (in his film 'Morte a Venezia', made in 1971).
Learning outcomes and competences
The student should become more critical, with the capacity to read literature and films and understand how literary works are adapted to the screen.
