Objectives

To raise students’ awareness to the action mechanisms of the agents of change and the need to manage the risks of their impacts on different materials; To develop students’ skills to recognize symptoms of pathologies, perceive the state of conservation of materials, as well as to enrich and apply technical and scientific vocabulary to ensure a correct description; To develop students’ team spirit and ability to work in groups, embryo of the formation of interdisciplinary teams, in order to develop integrated plans for heritage preservation.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students equiped with methodological tools enabling them to carry out research on the topics and make reasoned decisions.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Exposition of theoretical concepts including analysis of theoretical texts, knowledge of specific cases of heritage management. Development of practical work and presentation of projects taking into account: registration and identification of a site, research of sources and analysis of the logic behind the formation of an urban/rural tissue, with the aim of the presenting proposals for heritage management.
