Objectives

1. Disseminate and discuss the methodological ways inherent to research under Heritage Sciences, particularly in the areas of Archaeology and Art History.

2. Articulate the functions of the heritage sicentist in interdisciplinary contexts and in the context of contemporary scientific production.

3. Relate the concepts of primary and secondary sources.

4. Develop knowledge on bibliographic and documentary resources and your organization.

5. Build methodological approaches and techniques applied to research paths.

6. Identify and apply research paths and planifications.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students equipped with conceptual and methodological tools essential to plan and develop a research program in the field of Heritage Sciences, particularly in the areas of Archaeology and Art History.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretical and practical lessons and tutorial supervisions. Use of active teaching/learning strategies, such as study visits and practical application of knowledge in situations of presentation/discussion/training based on case studies. Development of individual and group activities.

Eligibility for exams

Students must guarantee a 75% attendance. Attendance will be verified by students' signature in attendance sheets, which may be consulted for absence management. Except for the cases provided for in the general law and regulations of the Faculty.

Calculation formula of final grade

The final evaluation presupposes a grade of 9.5 or higher in the following assessment components:

- Written individual paper (10%);

- Written individual test  (20%);

- Elaboration of a project work, carried out in a group (35%);

- Presentation and discussion of scientific work resulting from group work (35%).
