Mandatory literature
McMillan; Kathleen & Weyers, Jonathan;; , Prentice Hall, 2011; How to write Dissertations and Reports, 3rd edition (There is a lot of online material int he form of articles and guidelines on writing)
Comments from the literature
There is considerable bibliography both in the library and online of the various subjects related to translation and language services - translation, interpreting, multimodal communications, intercultural communication, technical communication, revising, editins and general writing.
Teaching methods and learning activities
The methodology is based on group seminars that promote interaction between the students and between them and their supervisors.
The supervisor begins with short theoretical presentations on the research areas and goes on to provide more practical advice on bibliographical research and the methodologies most appropriate to the research, such as testing hypotheses with questionnaires, interviews, exercises and other research methods, as well as how to verify the usability of such material.
The students participate with presentations on the reading material studied and cooperate in experiments to verify the methodologies used in their research. The organization and participation in conferences, workshops with experts and other events contribute to the students’ ability to envisage their research as part of a bigger project
