Objectives

The objectives are to: Bring the student into contact with the major schools of thought, concepts and methodologies of Geography, mainly from an evolutionary perspective. Associate the main areas of geographical knowledge with the levels of analysis of Geography.

Learning outcomes and competences

Explain the reasons, means and instruments of production in order to enlarge knowledge in Geography. Successful students should be able to: «IC1 – Use geographical terms and concepts correctly. IC2 – Relate diverse geographic information to the related principles and theories. IC3 – Select the most appropriate level for the analysis of a given situation. IC4 – Use geographical concepts in combination with those of other areas of knowledge. IL1 - Express themselves in their mother tongue, both in oral and written form with correctness, accuracy and fluency, being transparent as a sender and alert/ flexible as a receiver. II1 –Be aware of the development of challenges, while keeping a reflective but also receptive attitude to changes, seeking ways to address and transform them into opportunities for growth and development. II2- Apply proper and reflective geographical approaches, including educational guidance for an apprentice geographer.
