To understand the evolution of the Earth system particularly geological, tectonic, geomorphological, hydrological and climate interactions;
Acquire technical / scientific language in the areas of Earth Sciences;
To acquire basic geomorphology concepts in order to understand the geomorphological processes that act on the territory;
To know the various forms of relief and its geomorphological framework;
Identify geomorphological processes and the factors associated with it;
To develop the concept of geomorphological evolution;
To realize the importance of knowledge of the natural dynamics of the territory in order to understand the mechanisms of geomorphological processes;
To know and understand the interaction man / environment;
To interpret the role of the factors of natural order and anthropic order in the dynamics of the physical environment;
TThe syllabus of the course is structured so that students acquire knowledge and basic notions of geomorphology, whose complexity increases, gradually, along of the curricular unit. It is intended that at the end of the course, taking into account the defined objectives and syllabus, students are able to interpret the landforms and the natural or anthropic processes or geomorphological factors responsible for its genesis. Students should also use correctly the technical and scientific geomorphological language to describe the various geomorphological features and its morphogenesis. The field trip will be an essential teaching / learning moment, were the students can make the practical identification between the theoretical and practical concepts and the geomorphological landscape analysis on a significant issues of the program.
1 - Internal geodynamics: the importance of structure and lithology
Major Morpho-structural regions of the globe: platforms and folded Alpine systems.
Elementary structural forms and their evolution
The relationship of Hydrography with geological structure
2 - External morphodynamics
The basic geomorphological concepts
Slope dynamics
Fluvial dynamics
Glaciar dynamics
Wind dynamics
3 - The morphogenetic processes: Introduction to climate geomorphology
4 - The dynamics of the territory and the anthropic action
Expositive theoretical presentations will be made, spaced with practical sessions to solve practical exercises and works. The practical exercises will be assited along the practical sessions. The theoretical concepts and the thecniques will be aquired using the pratical aplications along the the classroom activities.
A field trip will be made, in order to interpret and understand the landscape forms and the related geomorphological processes, linking them with the natural dynamics of the territory and the anthropogenic activity influence. This way the theoretical concepts refered at the classroom activities will be transferred to the observation and geomorphological interpretation on the field lansdcape observation.

The evaluation will consist on a final exam (60%) and in the development of a practical work (40%).
A classification of at least 9,5 values in each component (theoretical and practical) is required.
Not applicable.
Accordingly with FLUP evaluation rules.
Realization of a new final examination.
