Outlining a political, economic, social and cultural panorama of Germany in the contemporary era.

Learning outcomes and competences


By the end of the sermester the students who passed the evaluation components will know not only which events and personalities were most relevant in the culture of Federal Republic of Germany in the XX and XXI centuries, but also their political, economic and social context. Such wide and multisided knowledge will enable the students the ability to a contextualizing approach to the human facts

From the Weimar Republic to the 21st century 0. General and specific objectives of the subject. 1. The concept of German. 2. Panoramic view: from the German tribes until  World War I. 3.The Weimar Republic. 4. The Third Reich. 5. The post-war period. 6. The Federal Republic of Germany. 7. The German Democratic Republic. 8. The reunification of Germany. 6. Germany at the turn of the 20th century.
