Objectives

The main aim is the intensive and criticak reading, establshing the links between text and context.

Learning outcomes and competences

The student must become a critival reader, being able to read critically any texts within their different contexts.

Knowledge of German.

Program

I. Representations and constructions: textual and cultural perspectives. II Detections. Contemporary German Detective Literature: Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Ingrid Noll, Roger Graf, Wolf Haas . III. Deslocations. Texts by Clärenore Stinnes („Im Auto durch zwei Welten”), Annemarie Schwarzenbach ("Das Glückliche Tal"“ and journalistic texts from 1939 and 1942), Wolfgang Koeppen („Nach Russland und anderswohin“), Hugo Loetscher (texts about Portugal), Egyd Gstättner („Februarreise an den Tejo“) and Christian Kracht („Der gelbe Bleistift“).
