0. Nota prévia: This chair will focus on the discussion of issues related to History in the Area of our Knowledge, paying special attention to characters from the XVII century to the present-day. 1. Objectivos: 1) The present aspects of HH. 2) Proposing a chronology in time for XVII-XX centuries and adequately justifying it. 3) The students will be offered the main knowledge about a given theme of “Historical schools” (Enlightenment, Romanticism, “Methodical School”, Marxism, Annales / New Histories, “New Political Stories, Post-Modernity… 4) complementing de point 3), the common non-critical usage of some concepts in HH, i.e. Historicism, Positivism, New History… 5) Providing HH texts of the main authors belonging to the proposed times to the students. 6) If there is a place for historians in contemporary societies, let the HH scholars know the reason: the main purpose.
1. To know about the major historical schools (centuries XVII - XX).
2. To use of accuracy in identifying the same concepts.
3. To identify and interpret some historiographical texts (centuries XIX - XX).
1. Historiography history: a new status for an old chair? 2. The rising of the «historical critics» and the modern erudition: from Jean Mabillon to the French revolution. 3. Enlightenment historiography: arguments and impasses. 4. Paths of the XIX century. 4.1. French revolution, Liberalism(s) and Historiography. 4.2. Historiography and cultural movements: Romanticism, Positivism, etc. 4.3. Historiography and Nationalities: Nation-State and State/Boss. 4.4. The «method» and the «methodical school(s) ». 5. Revolutions of historiography in the XX century. 5.1. Marxism and Historiography. 5.2. The Annales: naissance and the evolution of a historiography’s movement. 5.3. From Annales to the «Nouvelle(s) Histoire(s)»... 6. Historiography in the second half of the XX century: modernity and archaism (or maybe not...). 7. Post-modernity and Historiography. 8. What kind of Historiography for the XXI century? 8.1. Contextualizing in Humanities during the last two decades: from questioning to the renaissance? 8.2. Singular times: the return of the event in a world which is still happening. 8.3. New beginnings in a new century: Which is the time for the historians?
