Acquisition of knowledge about history, aesthetics and film theory in the Western context, so the student can develop a perspective based on massed languages that use the moving image and other approaches to the same subject. Understanding of how, from theater, film and literature, the cinema has forged principles of conceptual and formal organization that constitute a specific sociological and aesthetic field.
The course aims to deepen knowledge about the theories of cinema. To that extent, through an overview of the main theoretical proposals that, in this field were being produced, will allow a comprehensive overview of the issues around which was polarizing film production, from its origins to the present.

Theoretical discipline. Classes are devoted to the study of the major theories related to cinematographic culture and include the viewing and analysis of paradigmatic works to address the issues directly related to the concepts elected.
