Successful students should be able to: a) Reflect upon the main concepts, theories and orientations of the geopolitical and geostrategic thought in order to use them in the interpretation of the problems of the contemporary world. b) Understand international conflicts and strategic options. c) Understand what characterizes a geopolitical or geostrategic perspective in the interpretation of social, economic and political events, andto be capable of using it, when necessary. d) Reflect upon the differences and similarities between Political Geography and Geopolitics. e) Understand geopolitical thought in Portugal and its connections with internal and external territorial politics. f) Reflect upon the important questions of the national and international reality from the perspective of geopolitics and geostrategies.
